On September 11 2009 an emotional Michael Jordan was inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame - crying before beginning his 22 minute long speech.
During his speech Jordan showed that his competitive spirit and showmanship has not withered with the passing years out of playing the sport.
He made jovial references to all those who cut him from teams or tried to put him down over the years:
- The coach who cut him from the team at North Carolina
- Isiah Thomas for the alleged ‘freezeout’
- Knicks coach Jeff Van Gunday
- The media who put him down over the years
Jordan also paid tribute to the many greats of the game that came before him and those who helped him get to where he is today.

Jordan’s induction into the Hall of Fame has certainly given rise to a larger interest in his memorabilia throughout the world. This website has seen a steady increase in traffic since the ceremony last Friday which no doubt will equate to more interest (and some higher sales prices) on Jordan’s memorabilia.
